Falafel Gyro Burger with Hummus and Lemon Herb Tahini Drizzle
Ingredients:
- 4 falafel patties
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 1 cup hummus
- 1/2 cup tahini sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
- Lettuce leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions:
Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat to get it ready
Add salt and pepper to the falafel patties and brush them with a little olive oil
As long as the falafel patties are hot all the way through and have grill marks on them, theyre ready to be served
Split the whole wheat burger buns in half and toast them on the grill until they are warm and just a little crispy while the falafel cooks
Mix the lemon juice, chopped parsley, cilantro, and dill with the tahini sauce in a small bowl
Add the herbs and lemon to the tahini and mix well
Spread a lot of hummus on the bottom half of each burger bun before putting them together
After putting a lettuce leaf on top of the hummus, add a grilled falafel patty
Sliced red onion, tomato, and cucumber should be put on top of the falafel patty
Add the lemon herb tahini sauce to the falafel patty and vegetables
To finish the burger, put the top half of the bun on top of the stack
You can serve your Falafel Gyro Burger right away with your choice of sides and hummus or lemon herb tahini drizzle
