Baked Gnocchi with Sage and Cheese Sauce Longpin
Ingredients:
- 500g gnocchi
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 10 fresh sage leaves, chopped
- 2 cups grated cheese such as Parmesan, Gruyere, or Fontina
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Freshly grated nutmeg optional
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs optional
Instructions:
Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C
Follow the directions on the package to cook the gnocchi
Remove the water and set it aside
Put olive oil in a saucepan and heat it over medium-low heat
Cut up some garlic and sage leaves and add them
After about one to two minutes, the food should smell good
Grate the cheese and add it to the heavy cream
Stir the sauce every now and then while cooking until the cheese melts and its smooth
Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste, if you like
Toss the cooked gnocchi around in the sauce after adding it to the pan
Place the gnocchi and sauce mix in a baking dish
If you want, you can spread breadcrumbs out evenly on top
Put it in an oven that is already hot and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is brown and the sauce is bubbly
Serve hot, and if you want, top with more sage leaves
