Duck Fat Potato Galette with Sweet Onions and Caraway
This duck fat potato galette is a tasty and crunchy side dish that goes well with sweet caramelized onions and the strong smell of caraway seeds.
Ingredients:
- 3 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons duck fat
- 1 sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375F 190C
In a skillet, heat duck fat over medium heat
Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes
Remove onions from skillet and set aside
In the same skillet, arrange potato slices in an overlapping circular pattern to form a galette
Sprinkle caraway seeds over the potatoes
Season with salt and pepper
Top with caramelized onions
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and edges are crispy
Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before serving
Slice and serve warm
