Triple Threat Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 box brownie mix
- 24 Oreo cookies
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan
Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions and pour half of the batter into the prepared pan
Arrange the Oreo cookies evenly over the batter
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth, then pour over the Oreos
Pour the remaining brownie batter over the chocolate layer, spreading it evenly
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy
Gradually add the flour, mixing until well combined
If the frosting is too thick, add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached
Fold in the mini chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using
Spread the cookie dough frosting evenly over the brownie batter
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving
