- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 4 slices of provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup of sweet bell peppers, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup of red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste

Spread the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each sourdough bread slice
Place one slice of provolone cheese on the unbuttered side of one bread slice
Top the cheese with the sauted sweet pepper and onion mixture
Place the remaining slice of provolone cheese on top of the peppers and onions
Cover with the second slice of sourdough bread, buttered side facing outwards
Heat the skillet over medium-low heat and place the sandwich in the skillet
Cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side
Remove from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot
