Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons anise extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Put the melted butter and sugar in a large bowl and mix them together until they are well blended

One egg at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition

Put the anise extract and vanilla extract in and mix them in

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones while mixing them together

Keep doing this until a smooth batter forms

Follow the directions that came with your Pizzelle maker to heat it up

Put a few tablespoons of batter in the middle of the Pizzelle maker and then close the lid

The Pizzelle should be cooked for 30 to 40 seconds, or until they turn golden brown

Carefully take the Pizzelle out of the machine and set them on a wire rack to cool down completely

Do the same thing again with the rest of the batter

Once the Anise Pizzelle are cool, store them in a container that wont let air in

This will keep them crisp
