- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of whipped cream

Instructions:
Warm up the oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin
Put the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl
Mix until everything is smooth and well mixed

Put some chocolate chips and a spoonful of cherry pie filling on top of the batter in each cupcake liner
Fill the cupcake liners about two thirds of the way to the top with more chocolate cake batter
This will cover the cherry and chocolate chip filling
After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean
After taking the cupcakes out of the oven, let them cool in the pan for a few minutes
Then, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling
While the cupcakes are still cool, put a dollop of whipped cream on top of each one and decorate with a Maraschino cherry
You can now serve and enjoy your tasty Chocolate Cherry Layered Cupcakes
